Description

Tobavarchkhili Lakes Trek – Discover Georgia’s Hidden Silver Lakes

The Tobavarchkhili Lakes, meaning “Silver Lakes” in ancient Megrelian, are among the most breathtaking and untouched natural destinations in western Georgia. Nestled in the southern part of the Egrisi Mountain Range, in the remote highlands of Samegrelo, these alpine lakes offer a truly unforgettable trekking experience.

Located at elevations of 2,500–2,650 meters above sea level, the Tobavarchkhili Lakes are surrounded by dramatic rocky peaks, pristine wilderness, and unspoiled landscapes. This 45 km trekking route takes you deep into one of Georgia’s most scenic and less-explored regions.

During the journey, travelers will experience: lush broad-leaved forests rich in biodiversity; stunning alpine and subalpine meadows; spectacular waterfalls and crystal-clear mountain lakes; hidden caves and rugged mountain terrain.

Along the way, you’ll also discover the traditional lifestyle of nomadic shepherds, encounter rare wildlife, and immerse yourself in the raw beauty of Georgian nature - creating memories that last a lifetime.

The ideal trekking season runs from mid-June to mid-September, when the weather is stable, and the trails are fully accessible.
